I’m Jon, Father first and secondly a coach based in Nairn in the Scottish Highlands, where I live with my fiancée Hayleigh and our son Adam.
Before coaching full time, I spent 23 years in the care industry, six years supporting young adults with disabilities, followed by 17 years in nursing and dementia care working my way through to doing my managers awards.
That background has shaped how I coach. Understanding the person, their circumstances and the support they need is central to what I do.
Having lost over 150lbs myself, I know how much improving your health and fitness can change your life. I started coaching part time alongside my care career in 2017, found CrossFit in 2018 and became fully self employed as a coach in early 2025.
I use the CrossFit methodology alongside my other coaching qualifications in other training modalities to support my clients online and in person to become fitter, stronger and healthier and support them in their goals.
I also co-host the Outside the Box podcast on our YouTube channel The Continuum with fellow Coaches Congress ambassador Jake Chapman, sharing education, stories and conversations from across the CrossFit community and beyond.
For me, Coaches Congress is about learning, making connections and having honest conversations with people who care about coaching. It’s an opportunity to keep developing and bring practical ideas back to the people I work with. As an ambassador, I want to encourage other coaches and gym owners to put themselves in those rooms too.
